It’s high density compaction capabilities and reliable wrapper technology ensures that air pockets - generally the cause of mould and aerobic spoilage occurring in feeds - are eliminated, whilst the non-permeable wrap fully ensiles the feed. As the bales are compacted far more densely than normal this is also saves considerable space. Preservatives are added to the feed at normal dosing rates within the hopper, a process made all the more simple because the machine is static during operation. Maize silage is one of the highest yielding, high energy concentrate feeds and therefore popular with most livestock farmers seeking to reduce their dependency on bought-in supplies. The Orkel MP2000 offers one further option in this process and one that is the ideal complement to our established choice of clamping and bagging solutions.

Round bale silage, as an alternative to clamping or bagging, eliminates the need for silos or specially prepared undercover areas. Baling addresses many
common storage issues with the benefit of additional portability such as when the feed is being distributed to several locations in smaller quantities.
